I have to be honest with you...I've been beyond depressed thinking about this election. I can get down-right scared when I think about it...my guess is election day isn't going to be a pretty one. However, I read this short interview with Gary Bauer (a man whose opinions I really respect...he ran for president a couple elections ago), and it gave me great hope on this eve of election day...I needed to hear something positive...so I wanted to share it with you, my dear friends. Lets pray, vote, and in the end, know that it's all in God's hands anway...the heart of the king is in His hands.
1. Why are you optimistic things could turn around in America?
Gary Bauer (GB):There is still a great reservoir of Americans who believe in faith, family and freedom. Our elites perhaps have abandoned some of these concepts, but most Americans have not, including many non-churchgoers who still believe that marriage should be the union of one man and one woman and that life begins at conception.
2. What is your message for the millions of Americans who are headed to the polls?
GB:Do not be deceived: There are stark contrasts between the candidates. Take abortion — Sen. Obama says he would reduce the number of abortions, but he also says he would require you to subsidize it. A new study indicates that Obama’s policies would add 125,000 yearly abortions to a nation already devastated by thousands a day.
3. How will you be involved on Election Night?
I will be doing many interviews on Election Night and expect to be up late.
4. Some people say this election means everything. Others say it means nothing. How do you keep it in perspective?
This election is important for many reasons, not least because of the impending Supreme Court retirements and the prospect of a filibuster-proof Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate, which would give a President Obama carte blanche to do almost whatever he wants. At the same time, perspective is needed. We have no idea what events may change the world and shift the debate (think 9-11 after President Bush’s victory), and there will always be another election to set things right if things don’t turn out well.
5. How are you praying for this election? And how can people pray for you and your team at American Values?
I pray God’s hand of protection will continue to be over the nation and our leaders. We are facing an enemy abroad that worships death and a culture of death here at home. We need to pray for God’s continued mercy. I ask that people pray that our team have the energy and perseverance to make a difference on the issues that matter, and that, no matter the outcome on Election Day, we continue to fight for our values.

Great interview Tami - thanks for sharing it!
Don't be scared. The God we serve is still God no matter who is president. He is with us today, he will be with us tomorrow. He sets up kings and deposes them. He is in control. We have no reason to fear.
Love you friend!
