Remembering India

I don't think a day has gone by since coming home from India (almost 2 years ago), that I haven't thought of it or my dear friends, Jeff and Janet and their amazing little family who live there. I'm taking a trip back through just a few pictures that I found...

Kendra and myself sporting our Indian outfits

Kendra with a couple of her nurse friends.

In the ICU, there was a little patient that Kendra and I fell in love with...He was such a beautiful little boy.

I have to admit, I truly think I got the best job!!! Here's a picture of school time with a couple of my favorite students. :)

Whenever we'd check our email, the owner of the internet cafe would blast some American boyband music for me and Kendra because of course, every American would LOVE to listen to that music! :) It was also interesting that even if Kendra and my computers weren't working, his computer was always alive and well...one day we snuck a peek at his computer...let me just say, if you're chatting with "HotIndianMan", I've met him. :)

Bekah letting me cut her hair!

Taking a weekend holiday with everyone!

Janet, buying some fruit at a fruit stand...isn't it beautiful?

Kendra trying her hand at it!

It's true. We really did make this little man bike us around. :) We paid him, although, I'm not sure any amount would have been enough!

People bathing in the Ganga river.

Here's a picutre during the worship ceremony. I don't know how many people were there that night...I thought I heard over a million, but I could really be wrong 'cause I was having a difficult time hearing...but it felt like it was about a million people! I remember asking Jeff if he gets discouraged because the need seems to be so apparent and overwhelming? I've thought about his answer many times since then; "I serve where God has placed me and I try to do it the very best I can. Everything else is up to Him".

Jeff took us to a restaurant after the worship ceremony...one word: De-licious!!!! As you can tell, Aaron and I are very excited!!! I love how he's holding his silverware...ready for a feast!

Before we left India, Kendra and I went to see the Taj Mahal. Here, Kendra is giving a shot at carving marble. I don't know why, but there's something about this picture that makes me laugh every time...is it the fact that she was kind of forced into this or maybe the sarcastic comment she was making to me that the guy next to her didn't understand? :) Probably both!

And of course...the Taj Mahal.
Good times....good times.

those pictures were fun!
the "hot indian man" stories always crack me up!

I loved all the e-mails you sent during your stay there. the Bible coming alive while living there was so exciting!

I'm so glad you got to experience that.

Thanks for bringing back so many memories, Tami!! Clint and I talk about that trip quite a bit. The coldest I have ever been IN MY ENTIRE LIFE was the weekend we went to Mussourie. (we'll have to tell you about it sometime)

I'm really looking forward to seeing Jeff & Janet when they come to the States this summer. Maybe we should all try and get together...

Love you!!

Great pictures Tami. You and Kens look great in your sari's (no idea how to spell that!).

I bet Hot Indian Man was excited to have Hot American Women in his cafe :-)

What an awesome experience!

I laughed at your comment on my blog about wanting to play with Cade and Caleb...that would be a cute picture!!

MAYBE we should try to get together??? What are you smoking, Alesa? Can't wait to see all of you. I was thinking about how I will be able to come to Bloomington church now and actually REALLY know some people - I could sit by someone I know at lunch besides my mother-in-law (not that she isn't great...)

Thanks for sharing the memories. Too bad you didn't have any pictures of the gecko in your room, or better yet the one that feel on your head at chapel.

Love you!

No kidding...we definitely need to meet up! Janet, your comment cracked me up! I forgot about the gecko falling on my head!!! How could I forget?!?! If I can find the video clip of Aaron catching the gecko in the dorm, I'll post it!
