Heros of the Week: Denise, Benji, Sunita, Larry, Wayne, and Linda

Initiative vs. Unresponsiveness
"Recognizing and doing what needs to be done before I am asked to do it"

I almost hate to start naming names because I'm sure I'm missing people...but Denise Brim, Sunita & Benji Kruger, Larry Kupferschmid, and Wayne & Linda Steffen are being named "hero" this week because they were the ones that have personally said something to me.

This Sunday, I was in the baby room when Larry Kupferschmid came up to me and said, "Do you know that your dad is serving lunch next Sunday?"  Of course, I didn't.  But knowing that my sisters probably did, I wasn't too worried.  He immediately offered to help...even when I told him that he could bake my 5 dozen cookies (jokingly), he said he would!
(Don't worry everyone, we're not making Larry bake)

Benji and Sunita were standing there and immediately offered to help as well...suddenly, Sunita rememberd that she and Benji are going to the "Weekend to Remember" and wont be around, and Benji said that if we wanted, they could still come and help on Sunday.
(Don't worry everyone, we're not making them miss their weekend).

Later, Denise Brim immediately offered to bake something and wait a table...and today when I got to work, Wayne Steffen came in my office and said he noticed my dad was serving lunch on Sunday and he and Linda will help any way they can.

Well, what's funny is my Dad is in Japan, so he wont even be there, and I'm supposed to be in Wisconsin that weekend...hopefully, I'll be back! Anyway, thanks to all of you who demonstrated initiative and helping out a family who aparently hasn't thought anything about next sunday!!! Thanks for looking out for us!

So my heros...here's to you!

I was just reading the Bloomington church calender and I noticed your dad serves next Sunday. Soooooo....I guess you might want to do something about that. I live 20 hours away so I can't really do anything.

Yeah I know you guys can't top my list of weird facts. I mean come on Samurai's vs. eating with Gary Ringger?? I mean come on!! Comparing those two things is silly.

Well, Tam, I should think that I would have been your hero of the week since I actually had Serving lunch on my calendar! (j.k.) I think if Jon is wanting to help with serving lunch we can send him the bill and he can be your hero of the year!! -heidi

yes...we will definitely send him the bill, but since i'm not paying, i'm afraid it wouldn't earn him hero of my year. i though of you heidi, but i didn't name you for a couple reasons, i'm saving your 'hero status' for something else and having it in your calendar takes like 2 seconds. :)
