Hero of the Week: Reluctant Boyfriend, Indecisive Snow-Remover, Helpful Mr. Verizon, Sacrificial Roommate, and Faithful Family

Hero of the Week: 5 and counting...

I'm afraid Jeri (my car) does not love snow as much as I do and he's been doing everything he can to show his defiance as he has gotten stuck 5 times so far this winter!  With each crises he chooses to put me in, there's been unexpected heros emerge as they offer their assistance in moving his stubborn little self out of the snow.

Reluctant Boyfriend: I had parked Jeri on the street where I live, and just like that, he chose not to move on the Sunday of the Christmas program.  When I got home, I had Sadie (my roommate) get in the car as I pushed to no avail. Along came a van and this girl almost pushed her boyfriend out of the car to help us.  With a few good shoves, we got Jeri out.

Indecisive Snow-Remover:  Sadie and I made a late-night run to Denny's.  At about 2 a.m. we left to come home and as I pulled out on the street, there was a lot of scraping on the bottom of my car.  I got out and realized I had driven halfway down a median and was stratalling the cement slab.  Again, Sadie was pushing the gas as I tried to push.  A guy in one of those big street snow remover things drove by really slowly and stopped and stared.  I could tell that he was trying to decide whether or not he should get out...well, he didn't. I pushed it out, but I guess that's where the "thought that counts" comes in.

Helpful Mr. Verizon: Again, I got stuck in my driveway.  This time Callie (my roommate) was in the driver's seat as I pushed.  I was literally on my knees at one point...but it didn't work.  Mr. Verizon was at a neighbor's house and he came running over, scooped a couple scoops, said, "Pull forward. Now pull back" and wahla! Jeri was free.

Sacrificial Roommate:  On the same night of the Denny's run, we were driving home and I realized that we were going to get stuck while driving down the street.  While Jeri was still moving, Sadie jumped out and pushed from the back! I couldn't stop and had to keep going as not to get stuck again, so Jeri and I literally left her in our snow-dust.  She had to walk her way back home.

Faithful Family: On Superbowl night, Jeri was in need of some more drama and decided to get stuck once again.  Thankfully, we were on a downward slope, so Jarod, Heidi and Tara were able to push me out.

So to all who have helped me out this winter...you're my hero.  Here's to you!

Ok, why did I not know that you have a blog?! I can't believe you've been keeping it from me! :-)

I really don't feel like I did much. I mean I kept pushing after Heidi and Jarod stopped only to realize you had stopped so you wouldn't hit a car that was driving down our street! :-)

tara...sorry about not telling about the blog! actually, the only people i told were my sisters...i just didn't think people would want to read these silly nothings (hence the address)! i forgot that you kept pushing the car...that was funny. can always count on you to exceed expectation. :)
