Hero of the Week: Rebekah Jean Kaufmann

Sorry Bek...not the greatest picture of any of us!

Endurance vs. Giving up
The inward strength to withstand stress to accomplish God's best

Or in Japanese...Ga-man-soo-loo (I think)! Rebekah is being named hero for many reasons...first off, she is not only this week's hero, but she's one of my life heros.  She has been my entire life.  Secondly, today is her birthday!!!! So everyone, wish Bek a happy birthday! :) Thirdly, through all the hard times in my life...especially the past 5 years, she's been a rock in our family.  She's demonstrated endurance to withstand not only the stress of her own life, but mine and the rest of our family's.  She's taught us how to endure through difficult times and does everything she can to make our lives easier.  She teaches me through example and makes me want to keep going even when things seem the hardest.   She's one of the most kind, tender people I know and ALWAYS lets me cry to her.  I had a very difficult time picking the character quality for Bek because she demonstrates so many...but this week, I'm celebrating her endurance for 29 years and for truly living her life in a dynamic way for the Lord!  She (and Heidi) have been my "soft place to fall" in this world, and so today, Bek, I'm celebrating your birthday and the person you've been in my life and so many people!!!! Love you tons!!!!!

Just a side note...when I was younger and Rebekah still lived at home, she would give me "Character Cards" that I would find on my pillow.  She would praise me for different character and coming from a big sister, those were like gold to me...and so really, hero of the week came from Bek.

Here's to you, my hero and friend, Rebekah Jean Kaufmann!

Tami- that is so true about Rebekah, she is a great example to all. But the three of you are a great trio. Each of you seems to be there for each other. Sisters are the best. I like the character cards too.
